Ready to monetise your creativity? Join our sessions for practical advice on succeeding in the business world. Learn essential skills like budgeting, pricing, and choosing the right business structure, along with key “do’s and don’ts.”

Led by Ashley Burdon, Business Development Manager at McIntyre Dick, these fun and interactive workshops will guide you through your artistic journey, all without the jargon.

Red Heavens

‘Red Heavens’ portrays the true story of Angelina Moleta, an Italian pioneering immigrant on D’Urville Island, whose fate is intertwined with the forces of nature and her deep connection with a high-born Māori woman.

Embark on your own artistic upgrade with Arts Murihiku’s ROCKET FUEL 2024 Series!

We are gathering a crew of specialists to work alongside you. They will share their wisdom, infuse energy and inspiration, supporting you to refine your trajectory as you captain your own star ship.

What we will cover:

ROCKET FUEL will be an online monthly series available to every artist in Southland no matter which genre or where they are located.

Starting February, ROCKET FUEL will be delivered to the comfort of your own studio or home, totally online, totally free. That’s right!

ROCKET FUEL is so much more than a series of workshops: Our mission as an Arts Trust is to support, value and foster the skill in the Arts in Southland, so let us co-create your individual pathway.

Ready to get your creative groove on? Join the party at our recurring Art Lab. 

Drop-in and Draw is our recurring creative practice space that prioritises experimentation and thinking about Drawing as an Extended Field through ideas, prompts and encouragement. 

No need to RSVP, come along with something you’re working on between 11am and 1pm every second Thursday. We’d love to see you!

Join our exciting new Art Journal Group, Jump in & Journal.

Initiated by 14-year-old art journal enthusiast Neve Rigg-Rissmann, this group is the perfect space for artists and enthusiasts to connect, create, and share inspiration.

Event Description:

No need to RSVP, whether you’re a seasoned journaler or just starting out come along between 11am and 1pm every second Thursday. We’d love to see you!

Stop-by & Stitch

Operating under the umbrella of Arts Murihiku and in association with Creative Fibre Southland, our group welcomes all who are passionate about fibre crafts.
All fibre crafts are welcome!

 

Event Description:

This welcoming session offers an opportunity to meet fellow fibre lovers, share new skills, and plan exciting future activities!

  • your crochet, your knitting
  • or maybe even your spinning wheel.
