Sina Sibler is a self-taught artist based in Te Anau, Fiordland. Her practice is rooted in a deep connection to the natural environment, shaped by years of working and spending time in some of Fiordland’s remote landscapes. Working primarily in ink, ballpoint pen and graphite, Sina creates intricate, detailed drawings that explore the complexity of the natural world. Her work often brings together elements of forest, wildlife and human presence, with an emphasis on the small details that can easily go unnoticed. Rather than presenting nature as a distant landscape, her drawings invite a slower way of looking. Layers of detail reveal themselves gradually, encouraging viewers to pause, explore and discover their own points of connection within the work.
