Kia ora I’m Gavin Thomson of Murihiku Pounamu, I create taonga/treasures from pounamu/greenstone in a traditional style for clients. We also work with schools and learning centres around Murihiku where we run a day long course sharing the art of pounamu carving with tamariki/children. My work is inspired by my Tupuna/ancestors I also draw inspiration from the whenua/land and our natural surroundings.
