Danny Owen aka DEOW Deow is an accomplished artist from Southland, celebrated for his remarkable street art and passion for surfing. His extensive portfolio primarily features figurative characters and portraits, all expertly rendered with aerosol paint. Recently, Deow has ventured into more sophisticated oil paintings, effectively capturing the enchanting spirit of Southland and the scenic Ōreti beach.
His artistic career is distinguished by a series of solo exhibitions, with significant showcases occurring in 2022, 2017, 2014, 2013, 2009, and 2008. His latest creations genuinely embody his Kiwi heritage, reflecting an evolution from the foundations of graffiti art.
DEOW is also the founder and Creative Director of South Sea Spray Trust which has now completed over 100 public artworks in Southland over the past 6 years and plans for many public art installations to come! Watch out for South Sea Spray Wāhine! Coming to Invercargill this November!
