My crochet journey began during the COVID-19 lockdown, when I was pregnant and looking for a calming, creative outlet. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, beginning with amigurumi, home décor and wearable accessories before developing into the more intricate world of micro-crochet.

My love of delicate lace-like textures eventually led me to discover tatting, a traditional lace-making technique that is now at the heart of my creative practice. I enjoy taking this almost-forgotten craft and giving it a contemporary feel, creating lightweight jewellery and accessories using fine cotton threads, yarns and beads.

My work draws inspiration from vintage textiles, nature and playful characters, combining traditional techniques with modern wearable design. Today, I create and sell my original crochet and tatting pieces from my craft shop in Invercargill, while continuing to explore where these beautiful old techniques might take me next.
