With a background in both studio practice and arts education, I bring over 20 years of experience to my role as an artist and teacher. Holding an MFA, I have developed a deep understanding of creative processes that I love to share with others. My waterfront studio, nestled by the Rakiura Slipway, offers a peaceful and inspiring setting for both my work and the workshops I host.
In my teaching, I focus on building foundational skills in observational drawing, mark-making, and critique, guiding participants through these techniques in a relaxed and encouraging environment. My goal is to help others not only refine their technical abilities but also to discover and trust their unique artistic voice. The connection between the natural environment and creative expression is at the core of my practice, and I am passionate about fostering that same connection in those who join me in the studio.
