With over 40 years of experience in the art of weaving, Isobel has honed her craft to create a stunning array of handwoven blankets, wraps, tote bags, and a beautiful selection of felted garments. Her studio, open to the public for over 20 years, invites visitors to explore the intricate and diverse range of items she creates.
Isobel uses a rich variety of fibers, including wool, silk, cotton, mohair, and alpaca, to produce an array of products on her loom. From cozy scarves and bush shirts to stylish jackets, jerseys, woolly hats, gloves, and rugs, each piece reflects her meticulous attention to detail and deep appreciation for natural materials. Her work is not only a celebration of traditional weaving techniques but also a showcase of contemporary design sensibilities.
In addition to her own creations, Isobel offers weaving tuition, sharing her extensive knowledge and passion with those eager to learn the craft. As a respected member of the creative community, she serves as the secretary and is a life member of Creative Fibre Southland, an organization dedicated to promoting fiber arts in the region.
