Gayle Clearwater -Visual Artist

For the past six years I’ve worked as a visual artist, creating across photography, sculpture and life casting from my studio. My current work centres on a series of legacy projects that combine photography, video storytelling, life casting and installation to preserve not just a person’s likeness, but their story, memories and the experiences that have shaped their life.

My practice explores the themes of identity, memory, resilience and legacy, with each piece celebrating the moments that define who we are.

During the Southland Arts Trail, visitors are welcome to explore my photography studio, view works currently in progress, and discover how different creative mediums come together to create meaningful and lasting works of art.
