Fleur Soper
Fleur works primarily in acrylics, with a particular fascination for the stories held within relics of the past. Her practice focuses on buildings and structures weathered by time, seeking to capture the patina of age and the quiet beauty found in decay.
Through layered brushwork and careful attention to detail, Fleur reveals the textures, colours, and moods that speak to history, memory, and impermanence. Each piece reflects her interest in the way man-made forms slowly return to the earth, carrying with them echoes of lives once lived and moments once vibrant.
During the Arts Trail, Fleur will be creating and exhibiting from her mini-studio at Whare Taupua, inviting visitors to step into her world and see the poetry she finds in the fading traces of the past.
