Jazzical are ideal for private functions, corporate events, weddings, festivals, and other major celebrations and events. The band was originally formed in 2013 as a wind and keys duo and regularly performed around Southland for public and private events. Over time, Jazzical has evolved into a regular line-up of 3-7 musicians that are able to tailor their ensemble size and repertoire to meet the needs of any event. Classic jazz standards are the core of Jazzical’s repertoire. However, the ensemble is hugely versatile, as members are also classically trained and perform in other modern, popular music groups. The diverse background of the musicians in Jazzical means they can also perform something out of the jazz genre to spice up the setlist for your event or play your favourite classical piece or pop/rock song as you walk down the aisle. Jazzical is led by saxophonist (alto/tenor/baritone) and clarinettist Emma Jarman and includes talented Southland musicians on trombone, additional saxes, piano/keyboard, guitar, bass guitar, drums, and vocals. Ensemble options from a trio to a septet, instrumental only or with vocals are available. Recent performances include the Southern Swing’s dance evening, 50th Anniversary Celebrations for the Queens Park Tea Kiosk, Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the Invercargill Workingmens Club, Southland Festival of the Arts, and other private function performances for weddings and events.
