Ahi Rakau Ahi Poi 2022

Be part of a community of performers around ahi (fire) and performing. We will take the traditional art of mau rakau and poi as a performance and skillset and together develop an amazing group of like-minded individuals who can grow together in skill and sharing development milestones.

We will achieve this through workshops and monthly gatherings, with showcases from experienced performers and access to kaiako at every workshop. Participants will learn basic skills in the beginning and grow on the foundations of the arts.

We will use LED poi and rakau to ensure safety first and progress to the use of fire and the correct tools of the art. Be part of the growing Ahi Whanau based here in Murihiku. All ages welcome, children to be supervised by an adult.
