Born in Glasgow, Brian now lives in Te Anau. His writing credits include; “Assassin,” awarded Highly Commended by the adjudicator of the 2023 UK Pint-Sized Plays. From around 1400 international entries, “Assassin” was short- listed for several 2023, 2024 & 2025 Short + Sweet Festivals, including Essex, Yorkshire, Illawarra, and Sydney. “Assassin,” was performed in New Zealand, Dubai, London, and San Diego during the 2024/25 theatre season. It will be performed in August at the 2026 Short + Sweet Yorkshire Festival. His short play, “Souls” was a finalist and performed at the 2025 Pint-Sized Play Competition, by Remarkable Theatre Company, Queenstown, New Zealand. “Keep it in the Family” (renamed, “Undercurrents”) was awarded first place in the 2021 Playwrights Association, New Zealand, One Act Play Competition. “The Number 9 Bus”, another of his 10-minute plays, was performed in May 2026 by Bread and Roses Theatre Company, London, at their Platform Performance night. He is a committee member of The Playwrights Association, New Zealand.
