Meek and Wild Creations
Step into a whimsical world where characters spring to life in clay, fabric, and imagination. Traci Meek-Reid, the creative force behind Meek & Wild Creations, blends sculptural skill with playful storytelling to craft mascots, illustrative sculptures, and stop motion animation.
Known for bold, character-driven designs—from charmingly eccentric creatures to full-costume personalities—her work fuses the tactile joy of sculpture with the magic of movement.
For the Southland Art Trail, Traci will be working from The Cottage, tucked behind Te Rau o te Huia / SIT Centre for Creative Industries. Across the weekend, visitors can watch her bring characters to life in stop motion and explore the fine detail of her “illustrative sculptures.”
Expect a space buzzing with creative energy, where each piece hints at a larger story—and invites you to imagine what happens next.
