Victoria Naboka
Victoria is a visual artist working from her home studio, recently set up in the spare bedroom of her centrally located unit — a welcoming and accessible space for Arts Trail visitors.

Her first works draw on personal and cultural memory, blending the intricate patterns of Ukrainian carpets and embroyderies from her grandmother’s home with tukutuku weaving techniques learned through her Māori arts journey. Vibrant rainbow colours speak to both her heritage and her identity within the LGBTQ+ community.

Victoria is also proudly committed to her ongoing Te Reo Māori learning and experimenting with contemporary kohwaiwhai. Her latest works mainly in abstract style with variable colours.
