Night of the Arts 2026

Friday 15 May 2026

Get ready for a night where fringe festival meets street art, as Night of the Arts (NoTA) returns.

Get ready — NoTA is back!

Get ready Invercargill—Night of the Arts (NoTA) is back and this year, we’re turning up the heat with a Fringe twist!

This year’s Night of the Arts (NoTA) brings fringe flair to the heart of Invercargill, transforming Don Street, Dee Street, and Connections Arcade into a hub of live performance, hands-on creativity, and unexpected encounters. From 5–9pm on Friday, 16 May, the city centre becomes a canvas — and you’re invited to explore and discover every corner of it.

Expect performance artists, art installations, music groups, new creation stations with Oamaru stone carving, poi spinning, and more.

Plus this year we will have food trucks to keep the bellies full and the kids happy!

This event is for people of all ages.

NoTA is not just a show, it’s an invitation to get up close to creativity as it happens!

For those keen to get involved, there are plenty of opportunities to have a go

From stone carving and vinyl art printing to friendship bracelet making and ukulele strumming.
Along the way, keep an eye out for the frottage trail, where collecting hidden tile rubbings reveals a secret message.
It’s a night designed to be explored, discovered, and experienced.
