Anne Pilcher Gough

About

Anne Pilcher is a seasoned artist whose work reflects a life of creativity, travel, and exploration. She studied painting and photography in Sydney during the 1980s, attending the prestigious National Art School and Alexander Mackie School of Art. This formative education set the foundation for her unique artistic journey, which has since spanned continents and diverse landscapes. Over the years, Anne has lived and exhibited in three countries—Australia, Scotland, and New Zealand—allowing her work to be influenced by a wide range of cultural and environmental elements. Her travels, including an incredible circumnavigation from 2015 to 2020, have provided endless inspiration, with her paintings now scattered across the globe in private collections and exhibitions. Now permanently based in the coastal town of Riverton, Southland, New Zealand, Anne continues to create vibrant, evocative works that capture the beauty and depth of the world around her. Her art is deeply personal, yet universally resonant, reflecting both her experiences and her connection to the places she’s lived and visited. Whether painting the rugged landscapes of New Zealand or evoking the essence of her travels, Anne’s work remains a testament to her passion for art and exploration.
