Invercargill City Big Band

About

The Invercargill City Big Band (ICBB, formerly named The Crazy Rhythm Big Band) is a Southland music institution, with a performance profile spanning over four decades of festivals and concerts in Southland and throughout the South Island. The ICBBs current musical director is saxophonist, clarinettist, and teacher, Emma Jarman. Originally, the band only had a small number of arrangements in their library but it has now accumulated more than 500 charts. The bands repertoire ranges from classic jazz numbers such as Autumn Leaves, In the Mood, Summertime, At Last, Fly Me to the Moon, and Sweet Georgia Brown; through to modern numbers arranged for Big Band, including Respect, Cantina Band, Funkytown, Lady Madonna, Superstition, Thriller, and Tears in Heaven.Recent gigs include performances at The Relay for Life, Southland Festival of the Arts, The Invercargill Workingmen Club, and The Gore Rhododendron Festival.
