The MAILBOX Print Programme #5

Mailbox 05: A Drop-In + Draw Artist

Appeared in The Southland Times on Tuesday 25 June

Every two weeks, Whare Taupua Community Arts Space invites artists and creatives to immerse themselves in “Drop-In + Draw,” a creative 2-hour session led by Arts Activator Lisa Benson.

Designed to inspire exploration and collaboration, each gathering follows a structured agenda that encourages participants to try new techniques and share in the creative process.

Held in a welcoming and supportive environment, these sessions are a place where individuals can experiment freely and learn from one another.

This artwork was created during a recent session, inspired by the pioneering collages of Hannah Höch, a key figure of the Dada movement. In this creative jam, participants explored the art of collage-making and its potential for storytelling and self-expression.

Excited to join us for the next “Drop-In + Draw” session? Stay tuned for upcoming dates and details: https://artsmurihiku.co.nz/event-calendar/.
